Privacy Policy

We designed BarcodeQRHub to collect as little as possible. Code generation, scanning and bulk exports run entirely in your browser.

1. What never leaves your browser

  • Content you type into the generator while you are not saving a code.
  • Wi-Fi passwords — these are never sent to or stored on our servers.
  • Camera video and images you scan; decoding happens on your device.
  • Logos you upload for customization, unless you save that code to your account.
  • CSV files used for bulk generation, which are processed and zipped locally.

2. What we store

  • Account data: email address, an optional display name, hashed authentication credentials and the timestamps of your sign-ups and sign-ins.
  • Saved codes: the code type, its payload, styling options and any folder or label you add. Wi-Fi passwords are stripped before saving.
  • Dynamic links: the short code and destination URL, plus any expiry you configure.
  • Scan analytics: for dynamic links only — timestamp, coarse device type, browser, OS, two-letter country and referring hostname. We do not store IP addresses, precise location, or any identifier that follows a scanner across sites.

3. Why we process it

To operate your account and provide the features you asked for (contract), to keep the service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interests), and to meet legal and accounting obligations. Analytics on dynamic links exist so the owner of a code can measure its performance.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data and we do not run advertising trackers. We use infrastructure providers to host the application, database and authentication. They process data on our instructions only. If you sign in with Google, Google receives the fact that you authenticated with us.

5. Retention

Account and saved-code data are kept until you delete them or close your account. Scan events are kept for 24 months and then removed. Deleting your account removes your profile, saved codes and dynamic links, and disables the associated short links immediately.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Most of this is self-service from account settings; for anything else email support@barcodeqrhub.com. If you are in the UK or EEA you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Cookies

We use only cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary — chiefly to keep you signed in. See our Cookie Policy.

8. Children

The service is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
